Many fans believed the pitch was outside the strike zone, leading them to protest by holding up a large, colorful graphic of the K-Zone, the area considered a strike. Rakuten's head coach, Tseng Hao-chu, acknowledged the call's significance, stating that "every game's outcome is crucial right now." He praised his pitcher, Chun-chang, for stabilizing the situation and resolving the crisis at that moment. Although the Wei Chuan Dragons ultimately lost the game, their three-game series against Rakuten, dubbed the "King of the Hill series," concluded with a 2-1 victory for the Dragons. This series win propelled Wei Chuan to the top of the standings, securing first place in the second half of the season. The Dragons also set a new attendance record for the season, drawing 36,238 spectators to the game, and became the first team in the league to surpass 500,000 total attendees.
