Convicted of defaming Hotman Paris, Razman Nasution jailed at Cipinang Penitentiary

Razman Arif Nasution, convicted of defaming lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea, has been officially detained at the Cipinang Class I Penitentiary in East Jakarta. The detention was executed following a court decision that has reached legal finality.

According to Syarpani, the Head of Cipinang Class I Penitentiary, the official detention order was received on June 25, 2026, via a letter from the North Jakarta District Attorney's Office. The process of receiving the convicted individual commenced around 4:20 PM Western Indonesian Time on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

That it is true that based on the letter from the North Jakarta District Attorney's Office Number: B-4374/M.1.11/Eku.3/06/2026 Dated June 25, 2026 6 Regarding the Acceptance of a Convicted Person for the Execution of a Court Decision for the person of Dr. H. RAZMAN ARIF NASUTION, S.H., S.Ag., M.A., (Ph.D).

Nasution was found guilty of violating Article 27, Paragraph (3) in conjunction with Article 45, Paragraph (3) of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE). The court imposed a sentence of 1 year and 6 months imprisonment. Additionally, Nasution was fined Rp200 million. The ruling stipulated that if the fine is not paid, it will be replaced by a four-month period of detention as a subsidiary punishment.

Syarpani confirmed that all procedures were followed during Nasution's admission to the penitentiary. The convicted individual underwent administrative processes, identity verification, and health checks as per standard operating procedures.
