Cool, Wet Autumn Weather to Follow Warm Start to the Week

A warm Monday will offer Denmark temperatures of up to 23 degrees Celsius before a cooler and unsettled autumn week takes hold.

Klaus Larsen, a duty meteorologist at the Danish Meteorological Institute, said warm air would move across the country on Monday. The morning will be mostly cloudy, with scattered rain, but most areas should clear during the morning and see some sunshine. Jutland will be the warmest region, while northern Denmark faces more clouds and a risk of showers.

Colder air will arrive during the afternoon, bringing more clouds, especially across Jutland. Rain may begin in the westernmost areas during the evening, then spread across the country overnight. Tuesday will be cloudy, with periods of rain in most places, and temperatures will fall to between 16 and 19 degrees.

Wednesday may bring periods of sunshine, but colder air higher in the atmosphere will also trigger showers, some of them accompanied by thunder. Thursday is expected to be the week's second-best day, with sunshine, only a few isolated showers and temperatures between 15 and 18 degrees. Winds will strengthen.

Rain will return on Friday, which will be mostly cloudy, particularly in the south. The weather may clear later in the day, and temperatures could reach 19 degrees.
