Corral's 'Pichichi' goal earns Pachuca a draw at Atlas in Mexican Apertura

Charlyn Corral, the "Pichichi" award winner from Spain, salvaged a point for Pachuca with a late equalizer against Atlas in a Mexican women's football Apertura match. The game, played in Guadalajara, was significantly impacted by heavy rain and was ultimately suspended due to an electrical storm.

Charlyn Corral converted a goal this Friday to give Pachuca's Tuzas a 1-1 draw at the Guadalajara stadium, in a match remembered for the rain, in the Apertura of Mexican women's football.

Atlas took the lead in the 26th minute through Noemí Villalobos, who capitalized on a defensive mistake by Pachuca during a build-up. Despite Pachuca dominating possession for much of the first half, the error proved costly. Atlas managed only one shot on target in the opening 45 minutes.

With this draw, Pachuca secured its first point of the season, placing them third in Group B, one position above Atlas, who also holds one point. The Apertura's second matchday is set to continue with several other fixtures, including the champion América facing Cruz Azul.
