Counterfeit Goods Worth Over 13.6 Million Dinars Seized in Novi Pazar

Authorities in Novi Pazar have arrested a 37-year-old resident, identified by the initials O.M., on suspicion of intellectual property violations and labor law infringements. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the suspect is accused of illegally using the business names and trademarks of globally recognized brands.

During a search of the suspect's business premises, a significant quantity of counterfeit goods bearing well-known international brand names was discovered. The total value of the seized counterfeit merchandise is estimated at approximately 13,624,820 Serbian dinars. The Republic Market Inspectorate confiscated the falsified items.

Further investigations revealed that four workers were present at the location and were not registered for mandatory pension and disability insurance. This finding adds a layer of labor law violations to the charges against O.M.

The suspect has been detained for up to 48 hours, after which a criminal complaint will be filed against him. The operation highlights ongoing efforts to combat the trade of counterfeit goods and ensure compliance with labor regulations.
