Slovenian President Releases Hospital Discharge List After Accident, Confirming Fractured Collarbone

Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar has publicly shared her hospital discharge papers, confirming she sustained a fractured collarbone in a car accident. The accident occurred in the Kastelec tunnel while she was returning from a vacation in Croatia. Pirc Musar was traveling in a convoy to attend an event for cycling champion Tadeja Pogačar. Her office stated she had not yet spoken with police following the incident. The president's decision to release the medical documents comes after public speculation questioned the extent of her injuries. The discharge list from the hospital in Izola confirms the fractured collarbone. While emergency services at the scene suspected a concussion, hospital examinations did not confirm it, according to N1 Slovenia. The president admitted on Tuesday that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, taking responsibility for this oversight. As a result, she is expected to receive a fine of 120 euros, or 60 euros if paid promptly. Slovenian police announced Monday that the cause of the accident was failing to maintain a safe distance. The security officer driving the van carrying the president collided with the rear of the vehicle in front of them within the convoy. Two of the president's friends were also in the van at the time of the accident.
