Couple's Taichung trip saved by police locating lost phone via GPS

A meticulously planned four-day trip to Taichung nearly unraveled for a young couple on its very first day when the boyfriend lost his mobile phone. The device contained not only their travel itinerary but also precious personal photos, causing him significant distress.

After arriving from the High-Speed Rail Taichung Station by taxi, the couple busied themselves with settling into their hotel. It wasn't until the evening that the boyfriend realized his phone was missing. Without the taxi's license plate number, their hope seemed slim. However, the police guided them to use the phone's location tracking feature, which indicated the device was still in the Wuri District.

Officers from the Wuri Police Station quickly drove the couple to the last known location. A keen-eyed officer spotted a taxi parked by the roadside and, upon investigation, found the black smartphone on the rear seat. The taxi driver confirmed the couple was his last passenger of the day and had no idea the phone was left behind. The boyfriend, relieved to have his phone back undamaged, thanked the police for their prompt and effective help, stating it saved their trip from being ruined on the first day.
