Typhoon Haikui's Outer Bands Trigger Heavy Rain Advisory Across Taiwan

Typhoon Haikui's influence has prompted the Taiwan Central Weather Administration to issue a heavy rain advisory for 11 counties and cities. The storm's outer bands are expected to bring short, intense bursts of rain.

Mountainous areas in Hsinchu and Miaoli counties face the highest risk, with potential for torrential downpours. Authorities are warning residents to be cautious of landslides, falling rocks, debris flows, and flash floods. Specific townships in Hsinchu, including Hengshan, Beipu, Jianshi, and Wufeng, and in Miaoli, such as Zhuolan, Dahu, Nanzhuang, Shitan, and Tai'an, are identified as areas that could experience extreme rainfall.

The advisory also includes heavy rain warnings for mountainous areas in Taipei and New Taipei cities, as well as the North Coast. General heavy rain is forecast for Keelung, Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu City, Hsinchu County, Miaoli, Taichung, Nantou, and Yilan.
