Courthouse Incident: Woman Attempts Suicide, 8 Detained in Turkey

Tensions flared at the Samsun Courthouse in Turkey following a hearing for a physical assault case. A woman, reportedly a relative of a detained suspect, experienced a severe emotional crisis in the courthouse corridor on the 4th floor. She then attempted to take her own life.

Courthouse police quickly responded, calming the woman and escorting her to a safe area before summoning medical teams. She initially refused treatment from the first ambulance but later became unwell again outside the courthouse and was taken to the hospital.

Simultaneously, a fight broke out between women involved in the case in front of the courthouse. Police intervened to prevent the brawl from escalating further. During the commotion, some individuals resisted arrest. In total, 8 people, including two minors, were detained. Two women also face charges for resisting police. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
