‘Covered in bites’: Pests and extreme heat heighten health risks for Hong Kong’s homeless, NGO says

Hong Kong's homeless people are facing worsening health risks as extreme heat and heavy rain combine to intensify pest infestations, local NGO ImpactHK said.

The NGO said rising temperatures leave people living on the streets more vulnerable to heatstroke. At the same time, weather conditions alternating between record-breaking heat and heavy downpours have created ideal breeding conditions for pests.
