CPBL: Chen Chieh-Hsien's 3rd homer, Duke's 7th loss as TSG Hawks lose top spot

The Uni-Lions defeated the TSG Hawks 3-1, handing the Hawks' foreign pitcher Duke (Hou Jin) his seventh loss of the season and causing the team to slip from a tie for first place in the second half standings.

Duke, who had a strong start to the season with three wins, has since struggled, entering the game on a six-game losing streak and 10-game winless stretch. He allowed one run in the third inning and faced early trouble in the first. The Lions scored their first run after Chen Chieh-Hsien reached base and advanced on a timely hit.

Chen Chieh-Hsien provided crucial insurance runs in the eighth inning, hitting his third home run of the season, a two-run shot off reliever Wang Yueh-Lin. This extended his career total to 700 runs scored.

Lions starter Nelson (Shih-Ting) pitched six scoreless innings, allowing only four hits, to earn his seventh win of the season. The Hawks managed to score a single run in the ninth inning, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit.
