CPBL's Fubon Guardians-CTBC Brothers game hit by big screen controversy

A significant controversy erupted during a Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) game between the Fubon Guardians and CTBC Brothers, centered around the stadium's large video screen. The incident occurred in the bottom of the 10th inning, causing frustration for Fubon's manager, Gotoh Mitsutaka.

He argued that the broadcast angle could reveal the catcher's position, which he deemed a "very low-level mistake" and criticized the umpires for not noticing the issue.

In response to the incident, the CPBL league stated that the team's hardware operation personnel must be more attentive. The officiating crew also conducted an internal review, emphasizing the need to be aware of sudden occurrences around the field while focusing on the game. The league advised that if any issues arise, play should be immediately halted until the situation is resolved.

The team has since collaborated with the video system vendor to identify and rectify the problem, ensuring such disruptions are avoided in future games.
