Malaysian actress Nad Zainal, 36, asserts that there should be no limitations on hijab-wearing actresses taking on antagonist roles. She believes these characters are permissible as long as they do not involve scenes with physical contact between men and women.

"Abandoning a child, losing weight for a role. Who says you can't play roles like these while wearing a hijab?" Zainal questioned in a recent online discussion. "Crazy? Evil? Cunning? It's all possible. Even flirtatious roles are possible while wearing a hijab, as long as there's no physical contact," she added.

Nad, whose full name is Farah Nadia Zainal Abidin, hopes that actresses who wear the hijab will not impose any self-imposed restrictions simply because of their attire. She encourages them to explore a wider range of characters and performances.

"I hope all hijab-wearing actresses continue to be steadfast. We can do it," she shared, emphasizing her belief in their capability to portray diverse characters and excel in their craft without compromising their principles or personal choices.
