Crime: Man allegedly threatened to shoot 11-year-old boy in Munich

A 69-year-old man allegedly threatened to shoot an 11-year-old boy in Munich after an argument with a 44-year-old resident of an apartment building, police said.

The man had visited an acquaintance in the building on Friday when he became involved in a dispute with the woman. Police said he threatened her with death at her apartment door and said he would use a knife.

Shortly before officers arrived, the man became involved in a verbal confrontation with the boy on a balcony, according to police. He allegedly threatened to shoot the child and slightly injured him by throwing objects from the balcony.

Specially trained officers persuaded the man to leave the apartment, police said. A special operations unit then secured him without resistance. Officers released him after their measures found no indication of an ongoing danger. The man faces allegations including dangerous bodily harm and making threats, while the investigation continues.
