Criminal case opened after child electrocuted at Bishkek court

Bishkek authorities have initiated a criminal investigation following an incident where a minor suffered an electric shock on the grounds of the Oktyabrsky District Court. The incident occurred on August 2, according to the Oktyabrsky District Department of Internal Affairs.

The injured child has been identified as nine-year-old Ibrahim. While initial reports suggested the child had died, the Department of Internal Affairs has not officially confirmed the death in its statement. The case has been opened under Article 272 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, which pertains to violations of safety regulations during construction or other types of work.

Police are actively working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the electrocution and to identify any individuals or entities responsible. A procedural decision will be made following the conclusion of the investigation.
