Criminal case opened in Bishkek over lewd acts involving children

Authorities in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, have initiated a criminal case following allegations of lewd acts involving minors. The investigation began after parents of three young children reported an incident they claim occurred on June 30 between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.

According to the parents' complaint, a 20-year-old man allegedly took several girls, aged between four and seven, into a room and committed unlawful acts. The situation reportedly came to light when one of the girls called for help, prompting a witness to contact the police. Parents of other children have also come forward, reporting similar potential episodes, leading to a collective complaint filed on July 1.

Beyond the alleged acts, the parents have expressed significant concerns about the initial stages of the investigation. They claim that several days elapsed before a formal procedural decision was made. Furthermore, they allege that investigators were changed during this period, and the minors were kept at the police station for an extended duration while necessary procedures were conducted. The parents are also seeking an assessment of the conduct of certain police officers involved.

The Internal Affairs Department of Leninsky District confirmed receiving three complaints from parents of minors. Following a preliminary investigation, a criminal case was opened under Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, pertaining to "Lewd Acts." Forensic examinations have been ordered, and investigative measures are ongoing. Preliminary findings from a forensic psychiatric examination suggest the suspect may be legally insane due to a mental disorder, a factor that will be considered in subsequent decisions. The parents also alleged a connection between the suspect and the family of a university rector, a claim not officially confirmed by authorities.
