Critics call Lukas Graham's new album 'colorless' and 'predictable'

Danish music critics have largely given Lukas Graham's new album "Good Times" a lukewarm reception, citing a lack of lyrical substance and predictable song structures.

Jyllands-Posten's reviewer, who awarded the album two out of six stars, sharply criticized the lyrics, suggesting they made Rasmus Seebach sound like Bob Dylan and questioning if they were written by ChatGPT. The review described the predictability as "paralyzing."

Politiken also gave the album three out of six hearts, with its critic focusing on the lyrics and the songs' predictable arcs. "It's hard to disagree with any of it; the songs reach out with catchy and grand hooks. But there are too few moments that force you to prick up your ears. Too little that you hadn't heard coming," the review stated.

Ekstra Bladet's Thomas Treo gave the album two stars, calling it "colorless" and suggesting that while Lukas Graham returned to the folk and country music of his upbringing, he failed to find himself.

Conversely, the music magazine Gaffa offered a glowing review, awarding "Good Times" a perfect six stars. The Gaffa reviewer declared it "good, good, good times," praising the album's country direction.
