Croatia Weather: Friday Brings Unpleasant Turn with Heavy Showers and Thunderstorms

After a sunny and very hot Thursday, with localized showers and thunderstorms in parts of Istria and Dalmatia, Friday is set to bring more unsettled weather across Croatia. Increased cloud cover is expected, with rain and thunderstorms becoming more frequent, particularly in inland regions where they could be locally intense.

The atmosphere will become more unstable as a front approaches, bringing cooler and more humid air to the northern half of the country. Eastern Croatia can expect variable cloudiness with sunny spells, but also scattered rain and potentially strong thunderstorms. Winds will shift to northerly and northwesterly, and temperatures will be slightly lower than Thursday, ranging between 31 and 35 degrees Celsius.

Western inland areas will see morning temperatures between 19 and 22 degrees, with daytime highs generally between 29 and 32 degrees. More clouds and some rain are possible in the morning, with stronger thunderstorms developing in the afternoon. A light to moderate northeasterly and northerly wind will blow.

While mostly sunny, localized showers and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon, especially in inland Dalmatia. The far south will remain mostly sunny with only a slight chance of local rain or thunderstorms. Morning lows will be between 22 and 27 degrees, with highs reaching 34 to 38 degrees. Saturday will be cooler inland with scattered rain and thunderstorms, before predominantly sunny and warmer weather returns from Sunday.
