Luka Modrić experienced an emotional reception from Croatian fans in Perth, Australia, during his team AC Milan's preparations for a friendly match against Inter.

The Croatian national team captain was greeted with ovations and chants of "Luka, Luka" by a gathering of his compatriots. The heartwarming scene unfolded as Modrić was giving an interview in Perth's Crown's Sports Bar. When asked about his arrival, he responded, "Everything has been great so far. Australia is home to a significant Croatian diaspora, with approximately 250,000 Croatians and their descendants residing there, making it one of the countries with the largest Croatian communities abroad. Many fans were seen proudly displaying Croatian flags and jerseys during the Milan vs. Inter match.

Modrić, who is nearing his 41st birthday and recently extended his contract with Milan until summer 2027, also shared advice for ambitious young footballers. "Believe in yourself, work hard, and never give up," he stated. "That has always been my mentality, and I think young players should do the same."
