Croatian Goalkeeper Livaković Signs for Barcelona, Celebrates with Club Officials

Croatian national team goalkeeper Dominik Livaković has reportedly completed a move to Spanish giants Barcelona, according to Catalan media outlet Sport. The 31-year-old shot-stopper allegedly passed his medical and signed a contract with the club.

Sport published a video showing Livaković arriving in Barcelona, stating he was heading to the Botafumeiro restaurant for a celebratory lunch with club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco. Rafa Yuste, Barcelona's first vice-president, confirmed the club's happiness with the signing, calling Livaković "a very good boy."

Livaković joins Barcelona from Turkish club Fenerbahçe. The Catalan club's current first-choice goalkeeper is 25-year-old Joan Garcia, with 36-year-old Wojciech Szczesny serving as backup. Livaković's contract with Fenerbahçe reportedly has one year remaining, suggesting a potential loan move might be considered, possibly back to his former club Dinamo Zagreb, where he played in January. However, he could also remain with Barcelona this season.

The transfer window in Spain remains open for another six days. The club's coaching staff, including manager Hansi Flick, have expressed satisfaction with having experienced goalkeepers for the coming years, indicating that decisions regarding the goalkeeping situation will be made with time.
