Croatian Gymnastics Federation Partners with Sports Museum to Preserve Heritage

The Croatian Gymnastics Federation and the Croatian Sports Museum have established a long-term partnership focused on preserving Croatia's sports heritage and commemorating the achievements of its gymnasts. This collaboration aims to connect sport, culture, and education, echoing the objectives of the International Olympic Committee.

I am extremely pleased that we have established a long-term cooperation with the Croatian Sports Museum that connects sport, culture and education. I believe that through joint projects we will bring the rich history of Croatian gymnastics and sport closer to young generations and together preserve the values of Olympism and sports heritage for the future.

Through joint activities, the two institutions will introduce Croatian gymnasts, particularly children and young people, to the nation's extensive sports history. Planned initiatives include organized museum visits, educational workshops, thematic exhibitions, and expert lectures. The partnership is founded on the shared belief that the successes of Croatian gymnasts are not just past or present events but a valuable legacy for future generations.

Dr. Marijo Možnik, president of the Croatian Gymnastics Federation, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing its role in bringing the history of Croatian gymnastics closer to younger generations and safeguarding the values of Olympism. He noted that gymnastics, as one of the oldest sports, holds a special place in the development of Croatian sport.

Možnik also mentioned that preparations for the European Championships in Artistic Gymnastics, to be held in Zagreb, are proceeding as planned. He anticipates that this significant event will leave a lasting impact on Croatian sports, generating valuable exhibits, photographs, and memories for the Croatian Sports Museum. As a symbolic first step, the federation officially donated the European Championship medals to the museum.
