'Croatian Messi' Alen Halilović reportedly offered to Brazilian club Internacional

Alen Halilović, once hailed as the "Croatian Messi," may be on the verge of a move to Brazilian club Internacional. The 30-year-old attacking midfielder, who has struggled to live up to his early potential, is reportedly being offered to the Porto Alegre-based team.

Halilović joined Barcelona at 17, generating significant buzz as one of Croatia's brightest prospects. However, his career has since seen him play for 12 different clubs, failing to establish himself at any single one. He has been without a club since May after terminating his contract with Dutch side Fortuna Sittard.

Last season, Halilović made only five appearances for Fortuna Sittard, contributing one assist but experiencing limited playing time due to disagreements with the coach and management. Despite years of trying to reignite his career in Europe, he has yet to find consistent form.

Should Halilović sign with Internacional, he would find himself in the same city as another Croatian footballer, Filip Krovinović, who recently joined their city rivals, Grêmio. This potential move could mark a new chapter for Halilović, as he considers leaving Europe to revive his playing career.
