Spačkolom: A meeting of worlds through the illustrative dialogue of Ena Jurov and Sofija Pašalić

The Croatian Design Association's HDD gallery is hosting a new exhibition titled 'Spačkolom,' a collaborative project by illustrators Ena Jurov and Sofija Pašalić. This exhibition is the fourth installment of the 'Illustrators' Dialogue' series, an initiative that pairs artists from different countries and creative backgrounds to develop a shared project over the course of a year.

Unlike previous editions that focused primarily on illustration, Jurov and Pašalić chose to shape their joint project in the form of a comic book. Titled 'Spačkolom,' the work features a narrative where their distinct characters, worlds, and storytelling methods converge. The project developed through a dynamic exchange of ideas, conversations, sketches, and collective contemplation between the two artists.

Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to engage with the original artworks that form the comic book. Additionally, the exhibition provides insight into the creative process behind 'Spačkolom,' showcasing the journey from initial concepts to the final product. A special printed edition of the comic book, created exclusively for this exhibition, will also be available for purchase, offering attendees a tangible piece of the collaboration.

The 'Illustrators' Dialogue' series aims to challenge artists by encouraging them to create new, original works through collaboration, pushing the boundaries of their individual practices. 'Spačkolom' exemplifies this goal, presenting a unique fusion of Jurov's and Pašalić's artistic visions within the sequential art medium.
