Cross River gov swears in two commissioners, reshuffles cabinet

Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu has bolstered his administration by swearing in two new commissioners and enacting a cabinet reshuffle involving six members of the State Executive Council. The governor announced these changes on Monday, stating they are designed to enhance his administration's capacity to deliver on its "People First" agenda.

In the same vein, I approved a strategic reshuffle of some portfolios to enhance efficiency, optimise performance and deepen service delivery across key sectors.

The newly appointed commissioners are Ayuk Obi Afor, who will now lead the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and Dodeye Ikpi Arikpo, appointed as Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations. Governor Otu emphasized that these appointments underscore his administration's dedication to improving governance and accelerating development throughout the state.

In a strategic move to optimize performance and deepen service delivery, several portfolios were reshuffled. Anom Emmanuel Moses moved from Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries Development to Human Capital Development. Ekpang Erasmus Ekpang was redeployed from Information and Orientation to Lands. Cobham Ekpenyong Ene transitioned from Transport to Information and Orientation.

These adjustments are aimed at aligning experience and expertise with the priorities of government as we continue to accelerate development across all sectors of our dear state.

Further adjustments include Mensah Bassey Offiong moving from Water Resources to Environment, Kingsley N. Egumi from Human Capital Development to Transport, and Ekpenyong Francis Edet from Lands to Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries Development. Governor Otu explained that these redeployments aim to align the cabinet members' experience and expertise with the administration's priorities, ensuring continued development across all sectors of the state.
