CTBC Brothers end losing streak against Wei Chuan Dragons with 7-0 shutout

The CTBC Brothers baseball team has finally broken their nine-game losing streak against the Wei Chuan Dragons, securing a decisive 7-0 victory. The win came thanks to a stellar performance from foreign pitcher Logan Ondrusek, who pitched seven scoreless innings, and a crucial offensive contribution from catcher Kao Yu-chieh, who delivered two hits and three RBIs.

Brothers' manager Keiichi Hirano expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance, emphasizing their consistent effort. "We strive to fight with all our might in every game and continue to win," Hirano stated. "Actually, we don't just struggle against Wei Chuan; our goal is to deliver a good performance in every single game."

Ondrusek was particularly effective, allowing only five hits and no walks through seven innings. Hirano praised the pitcher's curveball and the late addition of a splitter, which made him more unpredictable for batters. He noted that winning against an opposing foreign pitcher was a positive sign for the team.

Hirano also highlighted Kao Yu-chieh's key at-bats in the first and sixth innings, which brought in crucial runs. He explained strategic substitutions in the eighth inning, replacing Zhang Shilin and Zeng Songen with pinch hitters, to give Yu Zhu a chance and to solidify the defense in a close game situation, aiming for a sure win.
