CTBC Brothers Release Foreign Pitcher Macuare

The CTBC Brothers have officially released foreign pitcher Angel Macuare, who was signed at the beginning of the season but never made a top-tier league appearance. Macuare joined the team's second-string squad for the Baseball Champions League in Mexico and returned to Taiwan with them, spending the season in the minor leagues.

During his time with the second team, Macuare appeared in 13 games, including two starts, pitching 26 innings. He allowed 24 hits, struck out 17 batters, and issued 12 walks, resulting in a 4.50 ERA. His contract has now expired, leading to his official release.

CTBC Brothers head coach Ping-yeh Kei-ichi stated that Macuare was initially brought in to support the second-string team's participation in Mexico and for further testing. After evaluating his performance in the minor leagues, the team determined he did not meet the standards for the first-string roster. "After his contract expired, we released him," Kei-ichi said.

The team currently has four registered foreign pitchers: De Paula, Rogel, Koshien, and Felix. They also have a new foreign pitcher, Jack, who is undergoing evaluation after a recent appearance with the second-string team. Kei-ichi mentioned that pitchers Rick and Tole, signed earlier in the season, are still recovering from injuries in the minor leagues.
