CTBC Financial Holding Reports Record NT$34.79 Billion Profit for First Five Months of 2026

CTBC Financial Holding Co. announced record-breaking profits for the first five months of 2026, with its consolidated net profit reaching NT$34.79 billion (approximately $1.07 billion USD). This figure represents the highest profit ever recorded for the same period in the company's history.

The company's banking subsidiary, ChinaTrust Commercial Bank, was a major contributor, posting a monthly net profit of NT$6.04 billion in May. For the cumulative first five months, the bank's net profit was NT$26.945 billion, a 17% increase compared to the previous year. This growth was fueled by expanding net interest margins and robust performance across various business segments, particularly wealth management, which saw a 40% increase in revenue.

CTBC Life Insurance also contributed to the overall results, although its May net profit of NT$283 million was influenced by rising bond yields. The cumulative net profit for the first five months reached NT$8.681 billion, primarily driven by the amortization of accumulated capital service margin (CSM) and gains from fund valuations. The insurance arm also saw significant growth in new contract premiums, up 160% year-on-year to NT$56.3 billion, largely due to strong sales of dividend-paying and investment-linked policies.
