Cuban pentathlete Velázquez finishes World Championship campaign

Cuban pentathlete Juan Pablo Velázquez concluded his run in the men's individual event at the 2026 Modern Pentathlon World Championship held in Guiyang, China. He finished 26th in Group B with 1,383 points, placing him 81st overall among more than one hundred competitors, a result that did not secure him a spot in the semifinals.

Velázquez demonstrated consistent performance across the pentathlon disciplines. In fencing, he achieved a balanced record of 17 wins and 18 losses, earning 210 points.
