Cuernavaca earmarks 5 million pesos for rain emergencies; strengthens preventive actions

The Cuernavaca City Council is proactively preparing for potential emergencies arising from the rainy season, allocating a fund of five million pesos exclusively for disaster response. This financial commitment guarantees the swift mobilization of necessary human, material, and operational resources to effectively manage any contingencies stemming from hydrometeorological events.

Municipal President José Luis Urióstegui Salgado led a meeting with operational and financial departments to assess the municipality's response capabilities. He stressed the importance of reinforcing preventive measures across the city, particularly in light of recent heavy rainfall. Urióstegui commended the efforts of the operational brigades and urged for continuous monitoring of at-risk zones.

Urióstegui also instructed the Fire Department to remain ready to assist neighboring municipalities facing emergencies, thereby strengthening regional coordination and collective response efforts. The meeting included key officials such as the Secretary of Administration, the municipal coordinator of Civil Protection, and the director of Firefighters, Rescue, and Medical Emergencies.
