Cuernavaca gas explosion victims finalize agreements with Tomza

Victims of a gas explosion in Cuernavaca, Morelos, are nearing the finalization of 14 compensatory agreements with the gas company Tomza Gas Titanium.

These agreements are being formalized at the Alternative Justice Center, following meetings between state officials, the gas company, and insurers. The state's Attorney General, Fernando Blumenkron Escobar, confirmed that these steps are part of the commitment to support those affected by the LP gas cloud explosion.

To ensure the rights of the victims are protected during the agreement process, the Human Rights Commissions of Morelos State and the Executive Commission for Victim Care and Reparation have been involved. The Attorney General's office has recorded 160 expert interventions, attended to 23 individuals, and processed 14 referrals to the Alternative Justice Center.

In total, 16 people were injured in the incident. Seven have been medically discharged, while eight remain hospitalized, five in Mexico City, one in Texas, USA, and two in Cuernavaca. Tragically, one person died as a result of the explosion.

The Fiscalía General del Estado de Morelos has also requested the intervention of specialists from the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) to bolster the investigation into the cause of the incident. The state prosecutor's office awaits the results of these expert reports to determine legal responsibilities.
