Cupra Launches Exclusive 'Tribe Edition' for León, Formentor, and Terramar in Mexico

Cupra is expanding its strategy of special editions with the introduction of the "Cupra Tribe Edition" in Mexico, available for the León, Formentor, and Terramar models. This move acknowledges the brand's significant growth and loyal customer base, referred to as its "Tribe," within the Mexican market, which has become one of Cupra's most important global territories.

The choice of the name "Tribe" directly references the brand's community-focused identity. Cupra has established a strong presence in Mexico with 44 Cupra Garages across 27 states and a dedicated Cupra City Garage. The Formentor, in particular, has proven highly successful, selling approximately 17,000 units in Mexico since its launch, contributing to Cupra's record first half globally with over 170,100 vehicles delivered.

The Tribe Edition offers exclusive visual distinctions. The most striking is the new "Verde Manganeso Mate" (Manganese Matte Green) exterior color, unique to this edition. The León and Formentor receive 19-inch wheels, while the Terramar is fitted with larger 20-inch wheels. Inside, the traditional Cupra copper accents are replaced with green stitching and details, and the bucket seats incorporate recycled materials.

Cupra is also emphasizing sustainability in this edition, using up to 30% recycled plastic in some interior components and 20% in the front fascia. Even the paint includes 15% bio-based material. Mechanically, however, the Tribe Edition remains true to the high-performance VZ configurations. The Cupra León Tribe Edition features a 300 hp 2.0 TSI engine with a seven-speed DSG transmission and front-wheel drive, while the Formentor boasts 333 hp and all-wheel drive.
