Cyber University Student Designs Futures Exchange Trading System Architecture During Internship

Ignatius Lucky, a student in Cyber University's Information Systems and Technology program, is gaining hands-on experience by participating in a strategic project at the Jakarta Futures Exchange (JFX) through the Company Learning Program (CLP) 3+1. The 2023 cohort student has been entrusted with designing the full-stack architecture for the Traders Quote MT4 and MT5 systems, a critical role within one of Indonesia's futures trading exchanges.

Interning at the Jakarta Futures Exchange is an extraordinary opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone. Designing the full-stack architecture to collect data from trading systems like MT4 and MT5 requires a high level of precision and strong architectural logic.

During his internship, Ignatius is not merely observing but actively contributing to the development of the company's technological infrastructure. His responsibilities encompass the design of the database structure, API Gateway, Admin Dashboard, and Market Data Hub. This project demands a deep understanding of data management, system integration, and information technology security, particularly given the high-speed and accuracy requirements of financial trading systems.

He utilized the NestJS framework integrated with SQL Server for the system's development, gaining valuable insights into the real-world application of software engineering principles.

I am grateful because the foundational knowledge from campus greatly helped me adapt quickly to mastering technologies like NestJS and designing real-world enterprise-scale databases.

Neneng Rachmalia Feta, Head of the Information Systems and Technology program at Cyber University, highlighted the significance of such industry-level projects.
