Cyclist Allegedly Causes Accident, Injures Driver, Flees Scene

A 79-year-old woman sustained serious injuries in a car accident near Wolgast, Germany, after a cyclist allegedly caused the collision and fled the scene. The incident occurred on the road leading to Groß Ernsthof on Friday afternoon.

According to police reports, the cyclist abruptly changed lanes while traveling on a designated bike path. This maneuver forced an oncoming driving school car, with a 17-year-old student driver at the wheel, to brake suddenly. A car following the driving school vehicle, driven by the 79-year-old woman, was unable to stop in time and rear-ended the driving school car.

The injured woman was transported to a hospital for treatment. A passenger in the driving school car reportedly suffered minor injuries. The cyclist, meanwhile, continued on the bike path in the direction of Groß Ernsthof.

Authorities have opened an investigation into the cyclist for hit-and-run offenses. Police are appealing to the public for any witnesses who can provide information about the incident or the identity of the cyclist.
