D23 2026: Disney Gathers Stars, Unveils Future Plans

Disney is unveiling its ambitious roadmap for the coming years at D23, the company's premier global convention, held this weekend in Anaheim, California. Thousands of fans are gathered to hear about future film and television projects, as well as updates on theme parks and cruise lines.

This ninth edition of the convention is a sprawling affair, with over 55 panels and special presentations spread across three days. It serves as a biannual meeting point for the company, drawing attendees from all 50 U.S. states and 38 countries. The event aims to provide attendees with firsthand information on the most significant announcements and developments.

Among the highlights are panels dedicated to celebrating milestone anniversaries of Disney classics. This year marks 25 years since 'Beauty and the Beast' and 75 years since 'Alice in Wonderland,' with tributes planned to honor the studio's rich history. The main venue in Anaheim boasts a record exhibition space for the convention, complemented by other stages like the Honda Center, which can host around 12,000 people and will be the site for major company announcements.

Attendees can also look forward to themed pavilions, including Walt Disney Imagineering's largest-ever display, an immersive journey through Marvel studios, a celebration of Pixar's 40th anniversary, and a new space dedicated to the company's archives. The convention also coincides with the premiere of "Camp Rock 3" and the return of the Jonas Brothers, tapping into the nostalgia of a generation that grew up with Disney hits like 'Hannah Montana' and 'High School Musical.'

The convention will culminate on Sunday with the Disney Legends Awards ceremony, the company's highest honor, first presented in 1987 to Fred MacMurray. This year's recipients will include notable figures such as Anne Hathaway, Dwayne Johnson, the Jonas Brothers, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Bob Iger, Jerry Bruckheimer, and Alan Tudyk.
