Da Nang launches first student pickleball championship with 65 schools participating

Da Nang, Vietnam, is set to host its inaugural student pickleball championship in 2026, drawing significant interest with 65 schools and 331 athletes registered. The event, organized by the Da Nang Pickleball Federation in collaboration with the city's Department of Education and Training and youth organizations, aims to foster a positive sports spirit and build a sustainable campus pickleball community.

"Through this tournament, the federation hopes to spread a positive sports spirit and contribute to the sustainable development of the campus pickleball community," said Truong Duy Hoa, vice chairman of the Da Nang Pickleball Federation. He noted that pickleball is rapidly growing and creating a dynamic physical education environment for the city's youth.

The championship is designed to encourage sports training and provide a platform for interaction. It also seeks to identify and nurture talented players for future national and international competitions. Participants will include middle school, high school, and university students, with specific age categories defined for each level.

Matches are scheduled to take place across different venues. The group stages and quarterfinals will be held at the Tuyen Son Pickleball Courts from June 20-21, 2026. The semifinals and finals will move to the Kimi Sport - Pickleball Courts at FPT City Urban Area.
