Da Nang Launches Two Major Infrastructure Projects Valued Over 4.29 Trillion VND

Da Nang city has officially broken ground on two significant infrastructure projects, representing a combined investment of over 4.293 trillion Vietnamese dong (approximately $170 million USD). These initiatives are designed to address critical urban challenges, including traffic congestion and climate change adaptation.

The first project focuses on developing a complex intersection at Le Thanh Nghi, Cach Mang Thang Tam, and Thang Long, including approach roads to Hoa Xuan Bridge. With an investment exceeding 1.571 trillion dong, this project aims to enhance traffic flow in the southern part of the city, particularly in the Hoa Cuong and Hoa Xuan wards. It involves land acquisition, resettlement, and the construction of technical infrastructure, including a new underpass on Cach Mang Thang Tam street and improvements to existing bridges and roads. The goal is to ease peak-hour traffic and improve road safety.

The second project, the Integrated Development Project for Adaptation in Quang Nam Province (now part of Da Nang), is designed to bolster the city's resilience against natural disasters. This initiative seeks to improve flood control capabilities and enhance the city's overall capacity to adapt to climate change impacts. By upgrading infrastructure, Da Nang aims to strengthen regional connectivity and promote sustainable socio-economic development.

Both projects are managed by the Da Nang Management Board for Investment and Construction of Traffic and Agricultural Works. The commencement ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Túc, along with other central and city leaders. These developments are part of Da Nang's broader strategy to modernize its infrastructure, improve urban living conditions, and foster economic growth in the face of environmental challenges.
