Dagrún Fanný Liljarsdóttir appointed new municipal manager of Strandabyggð

Strandabyggð has appointed Dagrún Fanný Liljarsdóttir as its new municipal manager. Liljarsdóttir brings a diverse professional background to the role, most recently serving as a service project manager at the Capital Area Health Care. In that capacity, she was responsible for administrative management, operations, personnel matters, and reform initiatives.

Her previous experience includes work at the Child Protection Services in Reykjavík. Liljarsdóttir also possesses practical experience in managing a campsite, overseeing restaurant operations, teaching music to children, and working in preschools. Furthermore, she has experience supporting individuals with mental health issues, addiction, and providing care for the elderly.

Academically, Liljarsdóttir holds a master's degree in Management and Strategy from the University of Iceland, obtained in 2016, and a bachelor's degree in Social Work from the same institution in 2014. She has also completed further studies in human resource management and accounting, and is a trained practical nurse.
