Dakhla 2 Prison Administration Denies Suspicious Relationship Between Employee and Inmates

The administration of Morocco’s Dakhla 2 prison has denied allegations of a “suspicious relationship” between an employee and inmates, as well as claims that prison officials ignored it.

In a statement, the administration said the allegations had no basis. It said that on Aug. 28, 2026, a prisoner identified by the initials S.A.M.M. accused an employee of passing prohibited materials to another inmate in exchange for payments and the covering of expenses on his behalf.

The prison said it reviewed surveillance-camera recordings and searched the relevant inmate’s room. It reported finding no suspicious interaction between the employee and the prisoner, and no prohibited materials or physical evidence supporting the allegations.

According to the statement, an investigation indicated that the claims were an attempt to damage the employee’s reputation, coordinated with another inmate whom the employee had previously disciplined, along with that inmate’s brother.
