El Jadida police arrest three Ivorians over alleged assault of minor and open administrative inquiry

Police in El Jadida have arrested three Ivorian nationals suspected of involvement in an alleged assault on a minor, after a video from the child’s family raised questions about how their complaint had been handled.

The suspects, aged between 23 and 40, were detained during inquiries launched on the night of Saturday, September 5. They were placed in police custody while a judicial investigation continues under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.

The investigation aims to establish the circumstances of the incident and determine the acts allegedly committed by each suspect. The case concerns an alleged assault causing physical injury to the minor.

Alongside the judicial process, security authorities opened an administrative inquiry into the claims made in the video. That inquiry will examine how the complaint was managed and what measures officials took, with responsibility to be determined based on its findings.
