Dalmatia faces temperatures of up to 34°C, but weather change already appears on the charts

The start of September will still feel like summer across much of Croatia. Sunny and very warm conditions are expected, with temperatures along the Adriatic occasionally reaching 34°C.

The weather will not be completely settled everywhere. Local rain and showers may affect parts of inland Croatia and the northern Adriatic. In eastern Croatia, temperatures should climb to about 30°C after morning lows of 14°C to 17°C. Central Croatia will be somewhat cooler, with passing cloud and a chance of light rain in Međimurje, Podravina and Hrvatsko Zagorje.

The northern Adriatic will see moderate bora winds in the morning, followed by light to moderate northwesterly and westerly winds in the afternoon. The islands should remain mostly sunny, while the coast, inland Istria and Kvarner could see more cloud and occasional rain or showers. Highs there will range from 27°C to 32°C.

Dalmatia will be hotter, with mostly sunny and often hot conditions. Temperatures will reach 32°C to 34°C, particularly in the far south, while the sea will remain very warm at 26°C to 28°C. The southern Adriatic will continue to face a heatwave risk that could affect health.

Stable summer weather should continue through the latter part of the week. Saturday will be mostly sunny, although inland areas could see afternoon showers and thunderstorms, with some instability continuing overnight into Sunday morning. A more substantial change is expected only in the second half of next week, when a marked cooling and heavier rain could spread to the southern parts of the country.
