Dani Vallejo faces Hanfmann in ATP 250 Mallorca debut

Adolfo Daniel Vallejo, Paraguay's top-ranked tennis player, is set to make his debut at the ATP 250 Mallorca Championships this Sunday. The 22-year-old, currently holding the 71st position in the world rankings, will face a significant challenge in his opening match against veteran German player Yannick Hanfmann.

Hanfmann, 34, brings a wealth of experience to the court, boasting a career-high ranking of 45th achieved in July 2013. He is currently ranked 59th in the ATP standings, making him a formidable opponent for the young Paraguayan.

The match is scheduled to take place on Center Court and is expected to begin around 12:30 PM local time, though tennis match timings can fluctuate based on previous games. The Mallorca Championships 2026 are being held outdoors in Santa Ponsa and will conclude on Sunday, June 27.

Should Vallejo overcome Hanfmann, he would advance to the second round to face the tournament's top seed, Luciano Darderi. Darderi, hailing from Argentina but representing Italy, is ranked 17th in the world. The draw also features other notable players, including Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (Spain, 22), Frances Tiafoe (USA, 26), and Alejandro Tabilo (Chile, 31).
