Danish Teen Admits Laundering $34 Million, Possessing Hashish

A 19-year-old man, Mohammed Fossheim, has pleaded guilty to laundering more than 34 million kroner and possessing over 300 kilograms of hashish. The Copenhagen court sentenced him to three years and nine months in prison, a sentence he accepted.

The case involves several other suspects, some of whom are detained while others remain at large. Special prosecutor Susanne Bitsch requested the court to close its doors to the public, a decision the judge granted despite protests from the press and one of the suspect's lawyers. The judge cited the presence of individuals still at large as a reason for the closed hearing.

Due to the closed doors, the specifics of Fossheim's testimony remain undisclosed. Bitsch stated that the sentence aligned with the quantities of hashish and the amount of money mentioned in the initial court request, though she noted some details were altered without further explanation. The 19-year-old is one of six individuals initially brought before a preliminary hearing in December, suspected of operating an underground bank for money laundering.
