Suspected Mastermind in Copenhagen Drug Case Expected to Confess

The suspected mastermind in a drug trafficking case involving two kilograms of cocaine is anticipated to confess, according to court documents. Police found the cocaine in March when they apprehended Phillip Denié Dahl Petersen, a convicted murderer who had escaped from Vestre Prison, in a Copenhagen allotment association.

Five individuals, including Petersen, are currently charged with participating in organized drug trafficking in March. The alleged mastermind is accused of supplying the two kilograms of cocaine to one of the defendants, who then allegedly passed it to the four co-defendants for resale. This transaction reportedly occurred while the 37-year-old Petersen was a fugitive, having escaped Vestre Prison in February.

Petersen is serving an indefinite sentence for the murder of a 31-year-old man in 2022. The murder took place during a violent altercation outside a bar in Copenhagen's Sydhavn district. He remained at large for nearly a month before being arrested by Copenhagen Police in an allotment association in Sydhavn in March.

The case against the suspected mastermind will be adjudicated separately from the proceedings against the five other defendants charged in connection with the drug operation.
