Dapeng Bay 'Light One Bike' registration opens: Cycle, check-in to win iPhone 17, iPad

Taiwan's Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area Administration is inviting cyclists to pedal through the scenic beauty of Pingtung with its "Light One Bike" event, the latest offering in the "Pengwan Cycling 3+1" series. Following the success of previous events, this initiative aims to showcase the region's diverse landscapes and cultural heritage through cycling.

The "Light One Bike" event features two distinct routes designed to cater to different cycling enthusiasts. The first, an ecological guided tour on October 3rd and 4th, spans approximately 20 kilometers. This route is ideal for families and leisurely riders, exploring wetland ecosystems and coastal paths. Participants will also engage in a DIY experience making "Xianzhuan Dao" fish floss snacks and visit local landmarks like the Donglong Temple and the new "Wangchuan Culture Museum," concluding with a local dinner.

For more seasoned cyclists, the second route, scheduled for October 25th, covers about 65 kilometers. This challenging ride takes participants through picturesque locations such as the "My Neighbor Totoro" tunnel in Xinpi, the Sulin green tunnel in Chaozhou, the Wanjin Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, and the Pingtung Cocoa Chocolate Park. The journey concludes at the Pengwan Cross-Sea Bridge, offering a comprehensive tour of Pingtung's natural and cultural attractions.

Emphasizing sustainable tourism, the event will forgo single-use paper cups, providing free water refills for participants' reusable bottles. Beyond the cycling experience, participants have the chance to win attractive prizes, including an iPhone 17 and an iPad, by recording their rides or checking in at designated spots. The administration is also collaborating with "sports-friendly" accommodations to offer special services, encouraging outdoor sports enthusiasts from across Taiwan to join.
