David Lynch's iconic films to screen in Mexico in 'Lynch's Dreams' series

Mexican audiences can revisit the surreal and mysterious cinematic world of David Lynch through "Los sueños de Lynch" (Lynch's Dreams), a special film series presented by Cinépolis. The program, which began August 6 and runs until September 8, showcases some of the American director's most influential works on the big screen.

The tribute features a curated selection of Lynch's filmography, excluding only "Dune" (1984) and "Wild at Heart" (1990). The lineup includes seminal films such as "Eraserhead" (1977), "The Elephant Man" (1980), "Blue Velvet" (1986), "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me" (1992), "Lost Highway" (1997), "The Straight Story" (1999), "Mulholland Drive" (2001), and "Inland Empire" (2006).

"Eraserhead," Lynch's debut feature, introduced his signature symbolic universe, exploring themes of anxiety, fatherhood, and isolation. "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me," a prequel to the groundbreaking television series, delves into the final days of the enigmatic character Laura Palmer. "Mulholland Drive," widely regarded as one of the best films of the 21st century, stars Naomi Watts as a young actress navigating a dreamlike Hollywood landscape where reality and identity blur.

The series is being shown in Cinépolis complexes across Mexico City and other major cities. Specific weeks are dedicated to particular films, with "Eraserhead" and "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me" showing from August 6 to 12, followed by "Mulholland Drive" and "Inland Empire" from August 13 to 19.
