Del Toro Takes Tour de France Stage Win in Barcelona; Vingegaard Keeps Yellow Jersey

UAE Emirates secured a dominant one-two finish on the explosive Barcelona stage of the Tour de France, with Mexican rider Isaac Del Toro claiming his first career stage victory. The team's leader, Tadej Pogacar, tactically ceded the win to his lieutenant Del Toro in a dramatic sprint on Montjuic.

Del Toro crossed the line just ahead of defending champion Remco Evenepoel and yellow jersey holder Jonas Vingegaard. Despite the strong showing from the UAE team, Vingegaard managed to retain his overall lead, though his advantage over Pogacar narrowed to six seconds. Evenepoel sits third, 15 seconds behind Vingegaard.

Earlier in the stage, breakaway riders Felix Engelhardt, Alex Molenaar, and Frank van den Broek spent time in the spotlight before being reeled in by the peloton. The race intensified on the final kilometers with three ascents of the Montjuic climb. UAE Emirates' Brandon McNulty set a fierce pace on the first ascent, thinning the field. The decisive move came on the final climb, where Tobias Halland Johannesen initiated the action, but it was Del Toro, with Vingegaard in tow, who ultimately surged ahead.
