Delfina Gómez leads Morena plenary in Mexico State and urges unity behind Sheinbaum

Delfina Gómez closed Morena’s plenary in Mexico State with a call for the party to close ranks behind President Claudia Sheinbaum and reinforce its presence across the state.

The governor highlighted federal projects backed by Sheinbaum in Mexico State, including the Plan Oriente, security measures and hospitals. National Morena leaders, members of the state cabinet and local legislators attended the meeting.

The gathering also reviewed three years of government, legislative results and the political and territorial agenda leading into the 2027 elections. Morena’s state lawmakers expressed their support for Gómez’s administration and the continuation of the party’s political project in the state.

Government Secretary Horacio Duarte presented the legislative balance. He said the governor had sent 185 initiatives to the State Congress over the past two years, with 183 approved. Morena is also the largest group in the current legislature by the number of initiatives it has introduced and secured approval for.

The next legislative session will examine 88 proposed changes to laws and regulations. The topics include fighting corruption, improving public services, simplifying procedures and expanding digital government.
