Delhi Battered by Thunderstorms, Rain, and Gusty Winds, Bringing Respite Amidst Scorching Heat

Delhi breathed a sigh of relief as thunderstorms, accompanied by gusty winds and rain, swept through the capital late Tuesday night, breaking a prolonged spell of scorching heat. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a timely alert, forecasting adverse weather conditions that materialized with considerable force.

The storm brought winds gusting up to 90 kmph in certain parts of the city, providing a much-needed respite from the oppressive temperatures. Light to moderate rainfall was reported across most areas, further cooling the atmosphere. The IMD had predicted intense storms with wind speeds ranging from 60-80 kmph, with gusts reaching up to 90 kmph, along with lightning and the possibility of hail.

This dramatic shift in weather offered a temporary reprieve for Delhi's residents, who have been enduring severe heatwave conditions. The arrival of the thunderstorms marked a significant change, bringing cooler temperatures and much-needed precipitation.
