Demi Vollering wins second Tour de France Femmes title

Demi Vollering has claimed her second career victory at the Tour de France Femmes, solidifying her dominance in women's cycling. The Dutch rider, representing Team FDJ-SUEZ, effortlessly defended her overall lead on the final stage, which concluded in Nice.

Vollering's decisive move came with approximately 15 kilometers remaining in the stage, an attack that her closest rival, Kasia Niewiadoma of Poland, could not counter. This marked Vollering's third stage win of the race, underscoring her exceptional performance throughout the event.

Antonia Niedermaier emerged as the best young rider, securing the white jersey. The German cyclist, who finished fourth in the overall standings, narrowly missed a podium finish despite her strong showing in the Giro d'Italia earlier in the season.

Niewiadoma, riding for the German team Canyon//SRAM, expressed frustration after the race, accusing French rider Celia Gery of unsportsmanlike conduct. Niewiadoma alleged that Gery deliberately pushed her towards barriers at a critical point on an ascent, calling the action "childish" and stating she had lost all respect for her competitor.
