Denmark doctor: Eriksen walked off the field himself, asked to tell teammates he's okay

Christian Eriksen collapsed on the field during a friendly match between Denmark and Ukraine, marking a shocking incident for the second time in five years.

The 34-year-old midfielder experienced severe discomfort in his chest and fell to the ground in the 64th minute. The Danish national team's medical staff, including doctor Morten Boesen, intervened immediately, providing first aid and helping him regain consciousness.

According to Danish media, Eriksen quickly recovered and was able to communicate. He reportedly asked Dr. Boesen to relay a message to his teammates that he was fine, aiming to reassure them. "Christian is well and walked off the field himself," Dr. Boesen stated. "As I see it, the pacemaker is working as it should. He briefly lost consciousness but quickly regained contact with his surroundings and we were able to communicate with him."

Eriksen was subsequently transferred to the hospital for further examinations to determine the cause of the incident. He remains in contact with medical professionals. The match was suspended following the event.
